Malaysia 1998

Malaysia 1998

In 1998 Molly worked in the Hardware Group at Microsoft as a program manager.  She worked on a universal remote control with a great group of people, and at the end of the project, many of them got to go to Malaysia to kick off the production line for the remote control.

We flew first to Japan.  After a very very long flight, and a layover, we flew to Singapore and got a few hours sleep before making the drive to Malaysia.  During most of these travel days, we were frantically finishing the firmware for the remote control.  Solid development practices at their best.

Once in Malaysia, we got to see the factory floor and meet many of the people who would build our remote controls.  We were still fixing a few last-minute bugs, and feeling the jet lag.

We saw a little of Malaysia while doing some product testing, and visiting karaoke bars in the evenings.

On our way back through Singapore, we had a day to look around, and we went to Starbucks and a Botanical Garden.
