Getting Ready for Christmas

We got our Christmas boxes out a week ago so we'd have our Christmas books for the kids and have a few props for our Christmas Card photo. Then when we woke up to see snow on the ground this weekend it put us in a Christmas-y mood, so we put some lights up outside and then decorated our Christmas tree later in the day.

Miles was a maniac about the Christmas decorations. If it was a preview of what Christmas morning is going to be like in terms of anticipation, excitement, and inability to wait for ANYTHING, we're in trouble (Nana and Grandad, this is your fair warning)!

Micah also got very into the decorating. He had his own ideas of how it shoudld be done, though. He got a hold of one of the branches for the tree, and although he was very happy to hold it near the tree, he wouldn't let go to let us put it in the tree. He was obsessed with the ball ornaments which we were trying not to let him have because they're so fragile. When we finally gave in and let him have one, he wouldn't stop putting it in his mouth. We kept taking it out of his mouth, and eventually realized he was scraping the paint off of the ball with his teeth and eating it. Sigh. He never really got over the disappointment of us taking it away, though fiddling with the lights, the strands of beads (which he loved) and trying to put ornaments on the tree kept him amused. He thought the whole experience was pretty exciting.
